I bought a block from a salvage yard and it has a high dome piston in it. Were these a stock piston or an after market item? Just courious however they look to be in good shape.

there were standard, 5000 ft altitude an 8000 ft altitude pistons available from i-h, that could be ordered new with the tractor. i am pretty sure there were firecraters available too.

you can't tell without haveing a piston out to see it's identifying numbers and manufacturers stamp it could be oem or aftermarket.

here is a picture from the tc-32 d parts book for the w-9, looks like there was quite a few pistons available, both in high compression and kero-distillate
