H still not right

Hi there. Have timed my H like yall replied to in the post. Like i said i have that ing. box from petronix. When trying to start the H i pulled the #1spark plug and wire and grounded to the frame. With the key on if i jiggle the hot wire to the coil from the switch there is a spark from the plug even if it is not at #1 on the didt can be at #2 and still fires??? Is that right or is something messing up. I say jiggle the wire just trying to see if something works( I HAVE NO LOOSE CONNECTIONS)

The wire is broken internally and needs to be replaced. To be sure, just run a new piece of wire in place of the old directly to the coil (or resistorif it has one). There are many broken wires causing good things to be thrown away. Good job of analysis. As the broken wire makes and breaks it fires the coil. I think all is well. JimN

If you have a Pertronix switch and especially if you have a high voltage coil, when the coil fires its voltage rises and an arc of current is liable to fire just about anywhere it can so long as the spark gap distance isnt so great the coil cant achieve a sufficient high voltage.......i.e. if theres any dirt or moisture or carbon or oil traces and unless you have quality wires and cap etc she may misfire other then the place intended (just like lightning strikes and current takes the path of least resistance) .....I think they use a hall effect trigger switch and it dont take much either there or if you manually or accidentally make then break the flow of current through the coil shes gonna fireeeeeeee. Jiggling wires can simulate points or an elec switch action which causes the coil to fire.

Get it timed and have a good quality clean cap n rotor and GOOD HIGH VOLTAGE PLUG WIRES n Ima thinkin she is fine..
