super c throw out bearing

I will be putting my newly rebuilt engine back on the super c soon, The throw out bearing carrier was broken and other parts as well, Is there any hardware that attaches the throw out bearing to the carrier assembly ? When this tractor was taken apart I never did find the throw out bearing itself, Or any remnants of it but the clutch did work as it was running when taking apart ?

Soundslike you may have had the old graphite-block style of throwout bearing. Nothing on the bearing turned. It was simply a block of graphite that the clutch fingers turned on, which would help explain why you don't have any spare parts running around in there.

We had a discussion on this maybe a couple of weeks ago on another of the smaller tractors. My SuperC parts book show the graphite bearing as being part and parcel with the carrier/retainer, i.e., one piece. For a roller bearing type, I'm pretty sure you need a carrier for the bearing to ride in. The carrier would take the place of your older bearing in the clutch fork. (They seem to have used the graphite for regular drive tractors, and the roller bearing for tractors with the hydra-creeper option)

That carrier part number is 6116D and is common to As and Bs, as well as the Cs. Bearing numbers in the catalog that may still be crossed are 18567D, 55212D, and 361 292 R91.

I tried to re-use the graphite bearing in my SuperC, but there was just enough difference in the fingers of the new clutch that it pretty much shattered almost right away and I had to resplit it.

The part number on the carrier assembly that came out of it is "350830R2" I do still need to get another carrier before reassembly if anyone has one let me know."[email protected]" I have read in previous posts that the carrier was updated at some point on the super c's to go from one spring up to two, Mine does have two springs so I am assuming for it to be correct that one from an "a" "b" etc would not be correct as they only have one spring ? All help with this issue is appreciated ! Thanks in advance.

Jonathan, my book lists the same part #, except R1 (not a problem) for the graphite bearing. It does indeed have two return springs.

The 6116D carrier has no springs, regardless of A/B series or C.

The springs in the SuperC parts book are listed as being unique to the graphite (non-Hydra-Creeper) bearing.
