I would like to thank everyone one for the help I have gotten so far and for help in the future. Here is a link to the 1945 Farmall A I'm working on now, and feel free to check out my other albums of other tractors and stuff i got. If you have any comments would be glad to hear them.

my Farmall A

at the moment i'm trying to get the pistons unstuck before i split her. but it all seems to be in pretty good shape for one that came out of a field. the grill uas mangled when i pulled it but in my spare time i managed to get it in decent shape needs a little more straightning but it's not bad for my first time with that much sheet metal work. it needs brake work the right pedal moves side to side as well. the ptoand every thing is free, so i'll just give the trany and stuff a once over make shure nothing is broke or badly worn. but it shud go quick.

Randy. This appears to be your first restoration? You are doing it like most neophites, doing the easy part fast, tearing it down from every direction. This is going to cause you problems. You already have parts scattered over hel.. half acre.
Stop tearing it all apart. Get the components repaired and reassembled one at a time. Get some bins or boxes and label and sort stuff now. A year from now you won't be so sure what went where.
BTDT Good Luck.

Im not really familiar with the A's, but it looks like the seat that is on there has the mounting for the H or the M... Or could you get the A with that style seat as well?

this is my second restoration, but i had help on the first one. my first one was a 1944 John Deere A. on it i had a garage to use shelves and stuff to put all my parts, and some extra hands. i have bins some where just been to lazzy to dig them out.but i aint worryed about rebuilding the other stuff at the moment, ths tractor ran fine before the guy i bought it off of let it sit out side with noting over the muffler, so it has some water in the engine. he had everything on the motor rebuilt less than a year or two before that.

i'm not shure if they offered this seat on there or not but i like it better that the seat iv'e seen on other A's
