IH 1586 Torque Amplifier

I was looking at buying another 1586. But it doesn"t have a TA. The 1586 I have does have one. I know you can get an eliminator kit for that but I want to add one. Is that possible. Does it just have the eliminator kit, and I can just install a new TA? Thanks JK

I put one on a factory no ta 1066 once. You will need an mcv from a ta tractor and all the linkage for it. There are also a lot of internal parts you will need along with the ta. Can be done.

If you can find that housing complete in a boneyard you should be able to get the parts you need out of it. The gears in the 15's are helical cut gears while the smaller tractors have straight cut gears. I don't know if any of the gears are needed but if they are you need to find one from a 15.
