I tried pulling a tandem 6ft disc in a full cutting angle with my F20 and ran out of traction,I think a F14 would pull a single disc

With my father's '38 F-12 on 40" rubber, cast wheels, I regularly pulled a 7-foot double-disk that was originally sold with his 1929 10-20. The F-12 pulled this in plowed ground in second gear. No power left over, but adequate. The big cast wheels had better traction than the smaller wheels of an F-20, in my experience. I have to admit that the only F-20 I used had cut-off spokes and NO weights or water. I do remember that it lost a little traction all the time in plowed ground. Also: the disk-harrow had fairly small discs, so maybe it didn't need as much power as some of the modern harrows. I've had no experience of newer disk-harrows.
