What are these steel wheels for an H worth?

I have a set of steel rear wheels for my H. I'm not going to use them, so I'd like to sell them for funds for my restoration. What do you think I should be asking, or should expect? These are the original wheels from my H. They were only used for about 8 years in the 40's. In the 50's, when the previous owner bought the tractor he had them swapped for rubber. So these wheels were stored in the dealer's barn until the 80's, when the previous owners son and the dealer's nephew met at a reunion and he bought them. He blasted and primered them and stored them on a pallet, but never used them. They have some light surface rust, as you can see, but the cleats are in very good shape. Something fell on them and bent one of the spokes, as you can see.

So, what are they worth?

It would be tough to say. The lugs are pretty worn and you have some bent spokes and such. I would think $100 to $300 for the set and the right person. It would be nice if you could find the right person that has what you need and wants a set of steel wheels. Sometimes trades are the easiest thing for everyone..

Actually the lugs aren't really worn at all. That is what I've been told by several people who've seen the wheels up close. It also has only 1 bent spoke which is shown.

Mike,
I wish you were closer to Illinois, I know where there is a '41 H that they would look good on.

Mike,
Those lugs do have a fair amount of wear, and it certainly looks
like several spokes are bent. That being said, $150-300 are ball
park prices. Check on redpower and maybe trade for something
you need for your resto, I find with money tight it is easier to
swap than sell.

Hey Mike, clean them up and put them on you H. Mount them outboard of your tires/rims. When you ge into mud and start to sink, the lugs will dig in and keep you moving.

I sure wish I could have purchased that barn H, but now we're onto a JD BO or a Farmall MDW.

Looks like the clamps are gone, they are getting hard to find as they are differant than the cast wheels for the rubber, looks like $200 tops to me. I have several sets for H and M.

If they were in ND, they would be worth something to me... but I don't have the means to transport them there, so can't help much.

Those lugs aren't that worn in my opinion. The lugs that were on my F-12 were worn quite a bit more than that.

Mike, it might be that your camera distorts things, but if not, I see at least 4 bent spokes in that top pic. Some bent "in" and some bent "out"....Get yourself a straightedge(a standard carpenter's level of adequate length will work) and hold it up to the spokes between the center part and the outer rim part of the wheel. Straight means STRAIGHT, with little or no daylight showing between the level and the spoke-provided it's not sitting on the rivits. Bet you'll find more than the one bent if you check it that way...

With that said, a little hammer and dolly work(with a BFH and something heavy like an 8 inch chunk of railroad track rail to back it up), and possibly some help from the blue wrench, in a few hours sweat work you could probably get those bent spokes close enough to straight that they'd be darn near unnoticeable, improving the value of the wheels.

Thanks Ron. Yeah, I guess there are more than 1. I just remember the one, but I'm not near them right now, so I can't check for sure for a bit.
