1000 Loader Install/Removal

Has anyone developed a routine so that one person can install or remove an IH 1000 one-arm loader on/from a Super A/100/130/140/Cub?

While I don't have any immediate plans to pull mine, I've often looked at it and wondered what the heck I'd do if I ever needed to get it off to paint or service the tractor. The arm and bucket are easy enough.

It's that mounting frame that's got me. That thing has to weigh 300lbs. I could block it up and unbolt it from the tractor, but then what? It's too heavy and awkward to move with the tractor sitting over it, but you can't get the tractor out of the way without setting the frame on the ground.

If you wedge the front axle on a cub you can remove the right front wheel and then lower the loader frame onto a creeper or rolling platform and guide it in or out.

I have removed a 1000 loader from a 140 a number of times. What worked best for me was to use blocks and hydraulic jacks to slowly lower it down to ground level, but be careful about tipping sideways as it can go over pretty easily and you need to keep the bucket high enough so you can get under it with the wheel. An engine hoist would come in handy to hold the arm up. Once it is on the ground, you can drive the tractor out, it takes a little doing and you have to put a block in front of the frame so the tire rides up and over. Just reverse the process to install.
