Super A Planter Bottom

I am looking for the bottom part (the runner with brackets) of a Farmall Super A Planter, I think a 178 or 180 model to connect to the the cultivator brackets. I already have the countershaft and hopper but will need a seed tube as well. I am from Connecticut. Can anybody help me locate one or does anybody have one for sale locally? Thank you

Tom

Tom: Are you restoring this old planter to use or for show. If your planning to use it, scrap the idea. There are modern day planting units that will fit in there and work fine. All it takes is a bit of fabrication and you'll have a more efficient planter.

I was thinking of using it for both. I like to collect the old implements but in the future would like to "play" with them when I buy a farm and make a large garden or vegetable patch. What do you recommend for a modern planter for sweet corn or pumpkins or other vegetables like carrots? Do the Cole planters do a good job for vegetables or could the Super A pull a 2 or 4 row planter for sweet corn?

Tom: Cole makes a good planter. I always liked the 71 Deere or IH 185.

Your Super A will handle a two row corn planter with fertilizer hoppers quite easily. It might pull 4 row without fertilizer. 4 row gets quite heavy when loaded with seed and fertilizer.
