IH 1466 Turbo replacement

Help.....mine has gone bad....how do I get the old one off? I have taken the bolts loose, but I can't get the old turbo off? Why not? What do I need to do to get it off?

Sounds like it's stuck on pretty tight.Probably the exhaust elbow is stuck to the turbo too.All bolts need to come out then get a hammer and give it a few whacks on the cast parts.

so the bolts needs to come out of the cast iron side as well? The turbo moves right now, but it won"t come out of the cast iron side. So what is on the inside of the cast iron?

knock the elbow off, and make sure you get new sealing rings for the elbow when you install the new turbo.what brand is the new turbo? check out a switzer 3lm, that will wake it up,i had one on mine, but got a switzer S2E this year to see if it was better, it whistles alot now!
