w-4 motor swap

wondering if i can replace the motor in a w-4 with one out of a farmal m

Anythings possible, but no, they are two different engines. H engine will fit provided you have the front timing cover fore the -4.

Like John said anything is posiable.. The M is a bigger motor.. The W6 and M are the same motor, like the H is with the W4..

Find a motor out of a 300 or 350. They bolt up and offer close to 40 hp. if you use the step head pistons.

It might fit with some modifications. A H engine will bolt in.

The W-4 is basically the standard tread version of the Farmall H. An M engine will not fit. It is too wide, too tall, and too long.

Charles. I like that 300/350 idea I am going to have to keep that in mind if I want to a small mod tractor... :wink:
