Had the 886 with the German Diesel Quit the other day. Just quit, no chugging or caughing. Engine turns over just fine. Have fuel to the pump, and cracked a line before the injector and found fuel squirting out. Also peeked under the valve cover and looks like all the valves are opening like they should. Tractor makes no effort to start, no chugging, no smoke. Something with the pump??? Am I missing something else? TIA

I've had that happen a few times over the years.

Don't know what's going on with yours, but just a suggestion; when the air filter gets plugged, they will shut off like someone threw a switch.

Does the 886 use a cable or electronic solonoid to kill the motor? If its electric maybe thats the problem, short, burned out ect. Could be somthing in the pump maybe pump shaft. Remove the timeing window on the side of the pump and make sure its turning and also check the pump timeing. Could also be a stripped cam or idler gear. The cam still turns but is out of time and the engine will not fire. Also could be a stripped injection pump drive gear, the pump will turn but be out of time. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Hi, check the locking screw on the STOP/RUN control cable at the Bosch injection pump. Make sure when it is in the RUN position that the control lever is against the forward adjustment screw.
