I-4 High speed road gear

Was there ever a high speed road gear put in any of the industrial tractors. Recently I was told of an I-4 that had this high speed gear that allowed the tractor to exceed 30 mph with standard size tires. Is there any truth to this?

The I4 was geared faster, particularly 3rd and 4th, since it was made for industrial work as opposed to tillage like the W4. -- 5th was 15.5 mph. 30 mph was too fast for any tractor of that era without a suspension system, which includes nearly all of them. I can't answer your question, but if I had to guess, it would be no.
