I-4 tractor

Hi- I just purchased an I-4 international this evening. I don't have the serial number on hand so I can't identify the actual year. SOmeone mentioned it is very similar, parts wise, to the H. Is this true. Any input/thoughts on this tractor would be helpful....not a whole lot found when searching this site.....Rare???? Thanks, Mike in NH

About the only parts that are like the H is engine parts. Everything else is totaly different. Parts from the W-4 is what you will need. Should be lots of parts for them in the midwest.

Engine parts are the same except for the front timing cover. If yoyurs still has the pintle hook, its worth it weight in gold as that is just about as rare as hens teeth. Sheetmetal from an H is different. The serial number falls in line with the -4 series, and wont be seperate.

I have a W4 that I restored a couple years ago and parts can be difficult to find, depending on what you're looking for. Things like drawbars and tin work are tough to come by in my experience, but you never know where you could happen onto something. That said, an I4 sounds exciting! I'd love to see a picture or two it you have any. Also, I'm sure you know this already, but OEM Tractor Parts is an excellent source for many smaller parts such as light brackets, steering wheels, etc.
