10-20 runs again

Well the old Mccormick runs again after at least 10 years of sitting in a barn. I am not saying it runs good, The choke needs to stay about 1/2 on, but it will set and run until I shut it off. The head gasket and radiator leak pretty bad externally not sure about internal yet. I am not sure how the spark advance is supposed to work and the carburator needs some work but those are little problems. I am happy it runs.

Glad you gotther going! It was a great day when mine fired up after sitting 30-40 years. I am guessing you pull start it? If not be carefull if you are not sure where the spark is retarded and use the crank handle it may flip backwards. If I remember right look at the alum cap on the mag and when the rod hole is down all the way it is "off", to start it just has to be up a 1/4 inch from all the way down with the E4A mag. Don"t forget to flip the impulse lever on the mag or it will not have enough speed to make spark. If it has an F4 Mag it has automatic impulse coupler and will make a click sound when it sparks but it will still have to be retarded the same as the E4A to crank it by hand. If you have the choke on to run, it is either not getting enough fuel or too much air to run. Look for clogs in fuel line and carb or a loose or leaky manifold.
