IH Sickle Mower Identification & Questions

After hunting in the classifieds, browsing the web, and hoping to get lucky, finally I found something useful, and just this morning (and afternoon...and evening....but thats another story) TractorSam and myself went to pick up this IH Sickle Mower. I was pretty sure it was IH from the pictures, and looking at it today confirmed that 99% for me....I want to be sure what I'm dealing with, though, so I'll post the pictures up here and let the greater educated masses tell me exactly what mower I have.

Those are the three I have right now...those were what prompted me to buy it, site unseen. It's sitting outside on my trailer right now, but I didn't get any pictures of the loading process, or bringing it home.

Anyone know what that mower is?

I need a few parts, and thus, need some pictures of what the mower is _supposed_ to look like. Specifically, the lift mechanism, and the associated linkage. The Pitman and PTO are present, as are about 5 blades. Beyond the lift linkage, I think the only 'serious' issue is going to be the rear wheel. It's 4.00x12. I'm going to hunt around the local trailering supply places, as 12" is a fairly common trailer wheel if i'm not mistaken.

Anything I oughta know about these mowers?....other than I could lose my fingers, arms, legs, life, etc while operating them...

Thanks for any help, advice and pictures you guys might be able to provide!

That's what I've been seeking for some time. Oh well, I just got a 3pt, so I'll start looking for a 3pt sickle bar mower.

Cool find, though! Great that you're putting a weed catcher back to work! Can't let those weeds think they can win against a sickle bar! They can bury a mower for a little while, but now it's going to be sickle bar revenge!

Total elapsed time from me finding the mower on kijiji to me picking up the mower was roughly a week. I've been searching for a mower for a while, as I would have preferred to get either one of this nature, or one that would mount directly on the 2-pt on my Super-C...my alternative was massive modifications on TractorSam's Super-A mower.

I know where there's a Ford (I think) 3pt 6-foot sickle, with blades, in decent shape, for $50...but unless you get into the maritime provinces, it's probably not a viable option

Wayne, I use the modern forum, and an e-mail isn't listed for you. Can you post them on the forum? Anyone else have any guesses as to what model mower this might be? Still looking for some pictures of the lift linkages. Pictures of the whole mower in working order might not be a bad idea, either.
