MD battery boxes

My 1952 MD came with two battery boxes, one under the gas tank and one on the right side of the driver's seat. It's a 12 volt system, and I guess it took a lot of battery to crank it.
The part # for the box under the gas tank is 51707D, and I have found several companies that make replacement boxes for this #.
The part # for the one to the right of the driver's seat is 32787R91. Can anyone tell me if there is a replacement box out there, or is there one that is close? Thanks

Had the same discussion at RPRU with an MD owner as mine does not have the under the seat box either. He took the tank box and cut off the ears and used that. The originals were 6 volt batteries tied together. Most use a 12v and abandon one box or as he cleverly did, made a dummy box out of the one under the tank complete with dummy wires.

There is no one making a replacement box, because most guys don't know or don't want the second box. I have the only one that I have ever seen on a MD and get asked about it a lot.

I have one that is NOS and if I knew what it was worth I would sell it. I don't have a lid for it but the lid is the same as the one under the tank without the hold down tabs.

I wonder if a machine shop or metal fabricator could reproduce it. Maybe if you had a metal guage and could get the guage of metal and the dimensions, they should be able to come up with something close to original. I am planning to restore a MD in a few years and would like to rebuild it like it rolled of the factory floor and would like to have the battery box next to the seat. Would you be able to send me metal guage and dimensions. Thanks
