Help Please!
My neighbor purchased a International 4 cylinder diesel off of someone, who knows with this guy, and the water pump is out on it! And cannot for the life of me match one up!

The only ID information I can find is on the Right Side of the Clutch housing! Tag shows:
International Made in England
Model # A480003B001560
Serial # (nothing)

The water pump drive belt tension adjustment is part of the pump - the spacing on the v is done moving the nut in or out! Cannot describe it any better. Sorry!

Any help ID'ing the unit would be greatly appreciated!

OK, have determined that the Engine is a BD144! And located a photo and part number for the correct water pump. Seems the tractor is somewhere in the 414 line.
Still would like to narrow down manufacture and any other information to try and locate a manual.

Thanks again!
Louis

Hi BD144 engine was used on B275,B276 and I believe 354 and 424. The B414D,434,444,384 used a BD154 engine but I believe most parts were common just the stroke was different.
Go yo caseih.com parts search BD-144 and the engine parts will appear. Most likely the part that is required unless someone cracked the water pump housing attempting to change the bearing without the aid of a hydraulic press is:

Item 7 3042304R91 BEARING BEARING, spindle water pump.

Don't attempt to change the bearing yourself unless you have the proper tools or you will crack the water pump housing. 30 years ago our local IH dealer would do a casting exchange on the water pump and only charge for the bearing plus 1/2 hour labour. You are correct to adjust fan belt was by loosen a locking screw on water pump pulley and screwing outside part of pulley in or out. Also becarefull tapping this pulley as it will crack. The water pump is not to difficult to remove as I recall you have to tip the rad forward but it has been 35 years or more.

Good luck

JimB2,

Thank you for the information! Yes, the water pump was easy to remove, especially with the radiator removed, it needs a good flushing and the rubber cushions replaced anyhow.

Luckily, none of the bolts were frozen, and with a little patience removed easily.

Found the correct pump for the engine through a supplier on this site and have ordered it! In this day and age, trying to find someone to press that shaft and bearing is far and few between, especially in our area!

Will still be researching to find the exact model and year of this tractor, as there is other items that need attention. I have a good background in mechanics, just limited on the tractor side of things.

This tractor has been sitting idle for 3 years, and amazingly started and ran very smooth. Clutch and transmission function properly. Have not tried the PTO yet.

Give it a good flushing, fluid and filter changes and should be good to go! Having the proper model information, is important to me, to make sure I use the proper fluids in the trans and differential.

Thanks again,
Louis
