gas tank sealer

I am ready to pour epoxy sealer in the gas tank of my old Model M to cover rust in the bottom. However, inside the tank is a piece of flat metal, like a baffle or something. Whatever it is, it is loose and moves around in the tank. Now, what is going to be the effect of pouring epoxy sealer in the tank with that metal sheet loose? More problems?

Is your gas tank leaking? If so use the sealer. If not the sealer isn't necessary and can cause more problems than the rust. It's a catch-22 thing. Sealer won't adhere unless tank is very clean. If tank is very clean, you don't need it.
Get the tank clean. Hundreds of messages on this in the archives.
The loose baffle is no biggie. Make sure you have one of the new (free) caps.

I sand blasted mine on my cub,it took quite a bit of air to blow the remaining sand out but now it looks really good.
