Well my long term O14 project is nearing start up time. The engine was completely overhauled, new bearings sleeves piston, head was gone thru.this engine has been siting without oil init for a couple of years in the shop.Is there a easy way to prime the oil pump or should I just filler up and go?I have beeh puting a little oil down the jugs from time to time and rolling her over.Any other " should dos at this point? Thanks Chuc K.

Chuck - I've had good luck doing this:

1 - Remove the rocker cover and dump a quart of fresh oil over the rockers and valve stems.

2 - With the plugs out crank the engine until you see the oil pressure gage come off the pin. This tells you the oil pump has primed and the filter canister/oil lines have filled.

3 - Replace the plugs, fire 'er up and enjoy the smoke and noise!

Well, if you have a starter on it, Bobs suggestions are good. On my F14, I Pulled it in 3rd gear real slow and let the pressure come up, the nstopped and turned on the gas, set the mag and throttle, and pulled it a few feet and she fired off.
