Hydraulic Leak

It"s finally warm enough here in SW Michigan to start planning projects.
This morning I replaced a rotted bed in a 4x8 small trailer.
When that was finished I looked into the hyd leak on my 300U control valve.
I pulled the plug where you see the bubbles to see if there was a bad o-ring. There is no o-ring, it is a 3/4 pipe plug.

QUESTION: Is it ok to use regular white plastic thread tape in the hydro system. Or will it dissolve and cause problems.

Thanks,
Dell

I have read this subject discussed on this site, and I have concluded it is ok to use teflon tape if you keep it back a bit from the end of the plug, so it will not get in the system.

there is a sealant made by [name escapes me]that has a teflon/adhesive in a tube. I use it all the time. it works really well. dont figure to remove it after it cures w/o a lot of force, asI said it works well.

WELL I got up off my tired butt and went out to the shop and got that tube of sealant, washed it up and HERE GOES.it calledPST and is made by LOCTITE, a controlled strength anaerobic sealant, industrial grade #565 SO THERE CC
