I was wondering if anyone had a complete wiring diagram for a 12 volt Super M, been trying to figure out where the old wires go, but seems the old owner either cut the old wires or they just wore away, and I can"t tell what goes where. I was also wondering if it mattered what kind of wire that was used in different spots...thanks

Josh

JOSETTE, Thats a Nice schematic , I am not trying to be a wise guy , but where is the " Starter Switch " in that diagram ? My 1953 Super M has a switch on the base of the Steering pedestal and its operated by a small rod and my right foot engages it . I am sure I am missing something simple, and I am kinda curious.

Thanks ...

I always make my own wireing harnasse. Just did that a few weeks ago on a Case 580B backhoe tractor. What a mess, when I got done I had pulled almost every wire off and replaced the whole thing. It had wires all over and half of them wheren't hooked up to any thing.

Well i believe that you can still get a new harness from case I H and it will not break the bank and since there is only three wires going out over top of the engine it ain't rocket sicence Blue 12 ga. to the armature to the gen post on the reg. yellow 14 ga. to to the field on the rg. and to the field post on the gen. 14 ga. black from the ing. switch to the coil and i will have to rattel the cobbwebs to remember the colors from the reg to the amp meter and from there to the starer button and from the reg to the lite switch i am thinking that it is a 12 ga. black to the amp meter from the reg. and red 12 from the gauge to the hot post on the starter button and not sure on this as i am thinking that it is a 14 ga. purpel from the L terminal on the reg to the hot on the lite switch and for the head lites 14 ga. black on the litebar and what ever for the rear lite , now don't hold me to all of this as it has been a couple years since i had to rewire one and the wife has mislayed my IH wire scymatic book that had all the tractors covered with wire size and ga. and where they all went if it was not Feb. 14th i'd kill her. I just plum hate it when she starts to clean out my file cabnit and move my books around . Can't find a thing when i need it.

Thanks, I know exactly what you mean, and anything is better than nothing since I have nothing to go off of
