have a 76 grand lemonds that i started up today sat of i dont recall maybe 2 years fired up and now now how it runs lots of blue from compreesed rings a taping lifter and a cylinder that is hard on plugs. i think that the valve is needing to be reground what are your thoughts. ps. just figured you guys that work on old tractor would have good insight on this old car. hope i aint out of line.

Steven did it do this before it sat in storage?. I am guessing here but it may be a stuck valve from sitting. Let the engine warm up good and slowly trickle some "RISOLONE" into the carb. This will lube valves quickly. Then add the rest of the "RISOLONE" to the oil and drive the car or let it idle for a while...maybe 500 miles of driving, then change the oil. If it is a stuck valve this will usually remedy the problem, if it persists then you have a more serious problem...Mike in Exeter Ontario
