240U rear weights

Don't want to put calcium in my tires, but need more weight. This is the first chance I've had to move snow with my 240U and this 18" snow in Kansas is as wet as I've ever seen. I have a long circle drive and have most of one side cleared, but county has not graded yet. No sense getting that last few feet until they have gone by.
Anyways, does anyone have an idea where I can get weights for a 240U? I'd drive a few hundred miles to pick them up... of course the farther it is the better deal I'd need :) . I think the weights are two piece and 75# ea. for 300# total.

Yes they are 2 piece weights, I have a set for 100, but I'm in southwest Mo. If interested give me a call 417-838-9190

Maybe not all that far... will call.

240U's can have 24 or 28 inch rears -- better check the bolt pattern on the weights to see if they will work. (I have not seen a 240 in person). I am in Garden City -- 9-12 inches yesterday. Solid snow pack (read ice) this morning, this afternoon all the streets and highways are clear (mid 40's). Tomorrow afternoon yours will be too, except for the edges where all the snow is piled. TV said Pratt had 28 inches, I don't believe that.

You can't tell by this picture but my 240 U has 24" wheels. Weights for it are part # 369509R1. 28" wheel weights are part # 365321R2. There are also a couple other styles of weights that show up in the CaseIH online catalog. David............

Looks like you got in a little deep, Dave!! My seat looks the same as yours... better than the original. Mine has the exhaust out the hood and my headlights (unwired at present) are moved to the loader crossbar.
My wheels are 24" and Mark thinks his are for 24" and is checking. I had the part number from my parts book, but don't know if it's on the weights anywhere. 24" weights are 63# and 28s are 65#... a little lighter than I thought, but 252# should help. I could hang some weight on the rear blade, but that's not as clean. Guy I bought the tractor from had a big old piece of iron about 500# hanging with chains on the 3 point... now I see why.

Could be, but the Wichita channels (and all others) make things look as bad as possible -- they said Garden City had 12 inches (nope). When I worked for Kansas State University one of my jobs was to record (not predict) weather information, did that for 19 years. I hated measuring snow because it rarely is uniform. This last snow was impossible to measure, so all the so called snow measurers used the WAG method, just as I had to do too many times, except I considered mine an "educated" WAG method, since mine went into the official National Weather Service records. Granted we had a LOT of snow.

So what you are saying is it's impossible to measure snowfall? I took a yardstick out yesterday (wife wanted me to measure it) and in the open areas where it was not drifted, I measured anywhere from 13.5 to 18". For some reason we get very little wind from most directions at our house. Worst "drift " at my house was maybe 20"... of course that was in my north driveway.
Went to the grocery store this morning and where it was drifted, it was 4 to 5' deep in places. Last I heard, it was 16" here which is very close to the average that I measured. Pictures I saw from Pratt were much worse than I saw around here. They were pics people had emailed in to The Weather Channel in Atlanta. I'm sure the guy that had no drifts didn't bother to send them in. I seldom watch the local news from Wichita.

Well, darn... turns out Mark's weights were for 28" wheels instead of 24". Got to talk to a nice fellow a couple of times, so I don't consider it a loss.... I'll just keep looking for the right weights. Need the ones with the holes on about a 9 1/2" square instead of 11".

The weights from the A/B . . . 140 will bolt right on a 240 with 24" wheels. They are one piece weights. But if you are just trying to add some weight, they should be easy to find.
