Bought an SMTA yesterday and it will have to have new tires all around. There is no hurry since I have several other projects in front of this tractor. Does there seem to be a time of the year when the manufactures have special pricing on AG tires???? I seem to remember that more tires are sold just before tilling time than any other time of the year. I am sure that some of you guys and gals out there no the answer as to when the best price can be found.

Big John,

I think the guy who sells tractor tires, the guy who sells tractors or motorcycles, or jet ski's and even the Dairy Queen guy are on about the same seasonal schedule. That is, late Fall and Winter have to be the slowest time of the year. Tires aren't much of a Christmas gift item.

So if the dealer has the tires in inventory in the Fall after harvest, he'd be more willing to cut you a deal - so he can turn them into cash for important things in life, like making payroll withholding tax payments! Then again, if he doesn't have them in stock, he may not be as willing to deal. Preparing for Spring tilling time is probably the busy season, so it's when they're least likely to deal.

you better find out which size you want and what kind of tread example, DO you want original tread, what size are your rims, How wide are they? then you can research for price and mounting prices do vary What brand do you have any favorites?

I agree with BIG JOHN, gene b, lighten up he didn't advise you he was an idiot. He just wanted to know best time of year to buy tires. It is probably fall, just keep an eye on tire inventories from now to early winter.

Lighten up Gene B, this isn't the first time I have bought tires but it probably is the first time I've had 6 to 9 months, maybe even a year before I need to have them. The QUESTION was is there any one time of the year that there are better prices.

Lighten up??? I think you are more than a little overly sensitive there Johnny. Genes points to consider were all very valid. You must have some sort of insecurity complex going to see them as somehow threatening. If you can't handle straightforward advice on such basics as tires, than perhaps you should seek a new hobby. Try quilting.

My apologies BIG JOHN, I did not mean to insinuate you were an idiot, just that gene was treating you as such.
