Boy am I relieved. Now I'm pass the first big hurdle. Yesterday I tried to turn the fan blades and see if the pulley would turn. No such luck. So I jacked up the clutch side rear wheel and tried the rocking method with the gear lever in 1st. No luck. So I loaded the cylinders with PB Blaster and let it sit all night. Spark plugs still looked good showing no rust so I felt that rings can't be too stuck. This morning I went out and jacked up the clutch side rear wheel. I thought I was getting more wiggle than yesterday and I thought I saw the fan blade have a slight jiggle. So I kicked it out of gear and tried to turn the fan blades and see if the pulley would turn with it. Sure enough it budged. So I pulled the spark plugs and started turning it over via the fan blades. Just like on the combine engine, the first couple of full turns were real hard. Then it started loosening up pretty quickly. Next step will be to change the oil and filter. I will also pull off the valve cover and make sure everything is working properly. Then I will have my neighbor tow me around the 1/2 mile block so I can get some fresh lubrication to the engine. After that I will start prepping it for first start.

That's encouraging news Red! However I feel bad for Bermuda Ken - he may be forced to vacation on his back porch this year on account of you...

My vacation this year was going to the Red Power Roundup along with Guy Fay. I didn't see Red there. It was close to Indy too!! I had better get used to fixing more Cub Cadets to sell if Red won't buy parts......

Don't think so but really don't know. This tractor has not had any kind of load on it since 1969. I'm gonna monkey with the ignition system this afternoon. I'll hollar at you tomorrow with a list of goodies once I know what I need. This one has the Delco aftermarket vertical distributor.

Great news. I bought a LP once that was stuck and it freed on Diesel fuel easily. It is running great two years later. If the valves are free and none stick, I would say you are fine. I hope so anyway. That puts you on a great little tractor for a very reasonable price.

Congrats Red... I been reading your posts about the Raceway M,,sounds like a good deal,,we got a pretty good deal here the other day as well,, I was up at a neighbors who sells tractors doing some work for him(he has a crawler he cant get going, turned out its seized up) Well the crawler wouldnt go so he offered it to me for 500, i wasnt too interedted until he said he would throw in 2 tractors all for 1000.00 the tractors are what was told to me to be a Farmall Super C (looks like a C butI dont know the difference) another C with a loader (this one is painted green) and a JD 430c crawler the JD has a stuck engine ,the "Super C" needs carb work and the C runs pretty good but has some crud in the tank,,, I guess it was a pretty good deal though,, the tractors both have excellent tires. Anyone know the diff between a Super C and a C?????JIm

Jim, a SC has about 1-1/2" space between the top of the touch control and the bottom of the gas tank. SHould have a temp gauge for the hydro mounted atop the touch control levers. Disc brakes, taller grille, etc.//FB

There are two easy ways to tell the differece between a C and a Super C. One is the seriel number tag will say FC for a C, or FSC for a Super C. If the tag is missing or if the engine has been changed witch I have seen before where a C chasis has a Super C block are two casting marks on the block itself. A Super C has a casting mark on each side of the block. One of them is right under the carb. It will be a small rectangular bump and the other one is on the opposit side in about the same place.
