I was told I was getting a F-20, but after looking at the exhaust and steering gears, it appears to be a regular. Where would I find the serial number on it? Thanks.

Jeff,You should be able to find it on the tool box, under the fuel tank, on a tag. If that is missing, it should be stamped on the left frame rail, close to the radiator mounts, unless it is a very early Regular. If that is the case, you will have to use the engine serial number, to approximate the age. Happy tractoring, Ken

Ken, Thanks. I have a couple of questions; I usually don't have trouble with serial numbers, because they're easy to read on my other tractors, but this one's border line: The tag on the tool box is gone, but I found the number 103772N on top of the left rail just before the radiator mount. I'm assuming this is a part number, not a serial number, but I wanted to pass it by you. On the left front of the block I found the serial number OC1045, and what appears to be a 5, 8, or 9 after the 5. I assume it's actually QC, and that the number is 1045 since my "Farmall Tractors" book shows the QC numbers stopping at 1568 before switching to T1569. Am I correct in saying it is QC1045? Thank you.

Jeff, It appears to me that you have a 1930 Farmall Regular Narrow Tread. The number up on the frame rail should be correct. You should be able to tell if the number was stamped or cast, in the frame rail. The correct prefix, on the engine serial is "OC", but the engine serial number, should be larger than the tractor serial number. If you can, look at other Regular or F-20 tractors, and measure their axle width, as compared to yours. A narrow tread Regular, has a much narrower rear axle, and is much more desireable, congratulations. I hope this helps you. Happy Tractoring, Ken

Ken,
I measured the rear tires center to center, and it was 6'6". Is this a narrow tread?
