The first Farmall 806 gas was made in May of 1963 I believe. It happens to be serial # 501, that I cuurently own, but have for sale(for the right price).

Farmall 806 #502 is a diesel. It has a happy home in IL right now.

Bermuda Ken, How did the numbering scheme go? I know you said 502 is a diesel but did IH number them randomly or did they say 502-599 diesel, 600-699 Gas, 700-799 LP etc etc? I have a 63 806, serial 4646. Was just curious as to how they numbered them. Do you have a break down of how many D G LP were made?

Lack of time to go to shows with it,(has not been out in 3 years now)no way to haul it myself, paying for storage, ect. I'm sure someone else can more fun with it than I. Why not share the IH joy???

I know of lots of other great IH's that will NEVER be for sale because thier owners can't "see the light" and realize when its time to move on.

It(F-806 #501) really is a piece of IH history. This was the first tractor designed at the new Engineering Center at Hinsdale, first to have hydraulic T/A, ect.

Too bad others don't understand that concept.....Sharing. Didn't we learn that in kindergarten????? Apparently some folks missed that day of school.....

There is nothing worse than folks who "take it to the grave". Whether it be a IH tractor that WAS restorable or even just IH knowledge. If we want to keep IH history alive, we need to aggressively collect and share this information and pieces of history.

Ken Updike (Bermuda Ken) will probably answer this for you. He reads this board. He owns the first 806 gas tractor that was built.
