Work on restoration is nearing the end. A few more pieces to put on — wheel weights, fast hitch, etc. Then onto snow plow and a fast hitch weight bar for snow plowing. Link contains more photos.

Now I know where the expression "Pretty as a spotted pup in a red wagon" was referring to. Has anyone asked you to sell it? Does it have a price?

Looks real good, John. I set out to replace the governor spring on my B, and one thing led to another, and another, and another....

Except I'm in no hurry. I've gained a greater appreciation for you when I see how much work you did in the short time you did it. Mine will probably be a 6 month project, as I had a couple months when I couldn't get to it. I'm also steadfastly refusing to open up the engine, even though the oil pressure is low enough that it has me concerned.

Fred, not being familiar with your model, can you just simply drop the oil pan and remove the pump? It is real easy on the H. Or is that not the culprit?

Pump appears to be okay, relief valve spring is okay, there was a little gunk on the pickup screen, but not too bad. I think it's just 58 years of wear and tear on bearings.

Nice job, hope my two A's turn out half as good.
Like re-doing any older tractor, i've already put
many dollars in just the cleaning, looking
forward to many more after that, what a great
hobby :-)

Beautiful looking job! Excellent job on restoring a super model tractor. I wish I was near that point of completion, mine is in a thousand parts all over the garage. I've had to drop the transmission to replace the counter shaft and am finding all sorts of additional problems. Good luck with you'r masterpiece/

Nice Job! We own 2 Super A's, and have seen many more, but have never seen an external hydraulic valve and couplers like the ones that you've got. Is it a factory option? Do you have a part number or know where I can get a set up like that?

I would say that John's tractor had a Henderson loader on it at some time. The valve you see would be needed to raise and lower the loader. Also, the auxiliary hydraulic fluid tank that shows in the picture of the SA and Cub is definitely Henderson. The auxiliary valve, supply tubes from the live pump (they're different), and related linkage to operate the valve; costs about $250 for a "C". The related linkage for a SA is different, and harder to find.

It was designed to fit an A, B, or C; and their successors.

I really miss not having a loader on the farm H. I did an awful lot of things with it.

Brian,
The remote/auxilliary control valve was a factory option. Or at least it shows in my Super A parts book. I got mine from one of the the internet classified ads. It is very similar to what is used on Super C's with a fast hitch. The couplers are my own setup. I eventually plan to adapt a pair of cylinders to angle my snow plow.

John,
That step, does it bolt up to the drawbar mount?
I could use one like that on my CUB.

Phil,

There are four 3/4" holes on each of the final drive units. I have a piece of angle bolted into the front two. The rear holes are for the drawbar mount. I don't recall if my Cub is the same or not. I could e-mail a close up jpeg of the step if you wish.
