The serial No. for the whole tractor will be stamped in an aluminum plate riveted to the seat bracket nearer the center. (on the earliest tractors, that plate was mounted on the pedal guard at the front of the platform. If that's missing, try on the block, on a milled flat spot just under the No. 1 plug. If it's got the original engine, the number stamped there will be the same as the serial number of the tractor. If both numbers are there and they match, you'll know you've got the original crankcase.

Large parts were typically dated when they were cast. The engine block of my A is marked 8 30 P or 8/30/46. The tractor serial # is on a plate on the main body of the tractor. Look on the transmission case behind the seat bracket. Yours should start out "FAB". I belive 6832D is the part number for the trasmission case cover. Post the serial number when you find it and I'm sure someone on this forum can tell you the year of your tractor.
