I am also looking at buying a 3788. I will be pulling a 28ft chisel plow. Were these good tracters? I really enjoyed driveing it.

I posted yesterday but must have made a mistake as it is not here. 2 nights ago I spread manure with our 37. 2nd Greatest tractor we have, in my book. We have a 3588 also, and I like that one because when I do drive it it is for light jobs such as manure spreading and operation on steep terain for hauling loads, etc. with the 4 speed transmission instead of 3. I love that 37, and it should pull your plow; that transmission should work great under load with the 3 speed. Here are the problems we've had with the 2+2's: on the 35, we had to replace the transmission because our tractor mechanic forgot to torque all the bolts after a linkage repair and less than 1000 hours later it was tore up. Simple maitence. On the 37, we had to put a brand new engine in (cheaper than overhaul) because a pin hole in the cylinder sleve let radiator fluid into the oil. Could have been prevented a long time ago when my dad first mentioned it, but it would use about a gallon of radiator fluid (or more) every day. You can just about imagine what happened. Good luck
