Hello I have a 48H with a wide front end.It has 11.8x38 on the rear that are new(Goodyear) & very bad shape 6.00x16 on the front. The tractor is sitting alittle front high.Do they make smaller smaller front tires to level off the tractor? Is this normal?or should i just use the tractor till the rears wear out & buy bigger ones to bring the rear up,which may take awhile.I plan on buying front tires real soon. Thanks johnny

"OE" size for Farmall H is 5.50-16 & 11-38 (now 12.4-38)

I have a 48 H also and I just put 5.50x16's on the front and 13.6x38's on the rear. I like the combination, works good and looks good.
I have a friend who put 600x16 on the front and 12.4's on the back of his H and it looks to me as if the front end is high.
I found the 12.4's on my H just didn't have enough bite in our Arizona sandy desert "soil"
they spun too much and I have alot of sharp gravel in the soil, it flat tore my tires to shreds. With the 13.6s filled with water and one set of wheel weights it is just about right.
but then my H is putting out a "few" extra horses.

I think if You look closer your rear tires are probably 11.2X38... You could go to 12.4X38's on the rear and with the 5.50X16's on the front JWC mentions it should set level again. 13.6 X 38's are actually kinda big for a H....

A lot of the Hs had 5.50-16s. Firestone gives the overall diameter as 28 inches. 6.00-16 implement tires have about the same diameter. Remember you will have to reduce the diameter by twice the amount you wish to lower your front end. It is safe to assume your H has never had rear tires that were very much taller than the current ones. Replace your fronts with 5.50s (they will cost slightly less) and don't worry. Unless someone put the wrong front end on the tractor along the way it has made it 50 years.
