A friend has been looking for a tractor for haying. Found an ad for an MD that fits the bill, price, size, location, etc. But the ad says that it doesn't have pto. I say that they mean that it's not live pto. While we're waiting for a response from the seller, tell us did they make Farmall MD's without a pto?

It was optional, so was drawbar, rubber tires, electric starting & lights, belt pulley, hydraulics, would be a strange tractor from what we are used to.

Yep, PTO was still an option back then, I've even saw 1566's without PTO. Should be less than $100 from a salvage yard, easy to install.

I'll bet it could have been ordered without or maybe someone had pto trouble, removed it and covered the hole with a plate. Shouldn't be too costly for one from salavage yard.
