Im restoring a '52 H and I want to put all new wiring on it. Where can I get that kind of wire and all of the harnesses and stuff.

Hick: I just restored my '50 H and got all the wire harness from Case/IH. It looks and works just great. Also, consider the vinyl decals from Maple and Hunter in Indiana. They look so neat as they come off as individual letters and are simple to apply. Good luck.

Chuck, Did your harness include the lighting system? And what was the price?

I cant't say as to whether or not there are any wiring harnesses available for yours. The route I took was to call my local Case/IH dealer and had them fax me a copy of the wiring diagram for my Super M, and I re-wired it. The colors of wire may not be exact, and I used the terminal ends from the auto parts store. It's not a perfect looking restoration, but it all works right.

IH still sells them but they are a bit skimpy in length on the older style with the voltage regulator on top of the generator. Like in about 4 inches shorter.

Red, could one move the regulator from the gen to the steering post, and use a 12 ga. (or other heavy ga.) wire connector? I've got the old style too, and a new CaseIH (BKen special) harness set. However, I haven't checked the length yet.

You can. The later style, like originally was on my 51H, had the VR mounted on the rear gas tank support. However I had an extra old style switch and preferred to keep the VR on the generator and out of the weather.

12 gauge would work fine. I had 2 of my Hs wired that way until I stumbled onto Ken's site a year and a half ago.
