I just got an IH 300 utility. It has a loader and a box scraper. The loader is made mostly out of heavy pipe. It slips onto mounts at the sides of the bottom of the radiator housing and is bolted onto the rear of the tractor. It has IHC on the hydro cylinders. My question is, is this an IH loader?

Your description sounds like a model 33. I have one too, mounted on a 350 hi-utility. The posted picture also appears to be a model 33.

THanks, Don, now I'll know what to look for when I get around to fixing mine.

Fred, I am curious what you are describing there, your latest ice fishing results?! By the way nice looking working 300U. I have a 300 with the Farmhand loader and it looks like it mounts the same but the IH loader appears more heavy duty. I still like the way the loader helps with the chores, good luck to you, and you too Scott. Hope your 300 has power steering.

Tom, that picture was taken the day I bought it, at the sellers home. THe fellow taking the picture is a JD man, and he paid me a compliment on the 300U, so I was doing the "dang, I'm proud" routine for him. Aint no ice fishing in these parts (western Washington). Yes it has power steering, laid out all over my shop right now awaiting a trip to the machine shop.

No power steering however it did come with a nice hydrolic oil? leak under the transmission someplace. Haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

I'm not much of an expert on loaders, but if you imagine yours with the main tubes on the left side busted and the rest twisted a bit, I have exactly the same one for my 300U. It is also shown in the book "150 years of International Harvester" mounted on a 350U. I would venture to say "Yes, that is an IH loader", but I don't have the model number.

BTW, I hope the goofy geezer in the photo didn't scare anyone...
