A friend of mine needs a disk for his food plots and small acerage. He has a 574 that is rated at 52 drawbar HP. He asked me because I"m the only "farmer friend" he has. Do you guys think his utility will do all right with this? It"s not too expensive, but he"ll have a good drive to go pick it up.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi we pulled 10ft IH disk behind 454 with 16.9x28 rears with calcium and weights in 4th Lo but pump is turned up to about 50HP. The only problem in a food plot is the size of the plot. We kept an old 6ft disk for the gardens as the 10ft was too difficult to turn in small areas.

OK guys. I thought it would probably do all right. An 8-foot might be a little better but we have not found one of those. Thanks for the advice.

It is always possible to remove a blade on each side to narrow it to suit! JimN

I pulled a 10 foot disk behind my 574. In freshly plowed soil it struggled but I just went to a lower gear so it took longer to get the job done.

It should Be fine. Might need wheel weights, but would pull it first. JimN

Should not be a problem.
