my 45 H has the 5th gear issue that turns up all the time in the forum. it also has a pto popping outta gear issue. sounds like i can remove the belt pulley gear box to take a gander at the 5th gear and figure out how simple the fix might be.
what should i brace for with the pto issue?

also the shift seems sloppy in almost all the gears could someone post a measurement of their travel from N to each gear or published values? the seller 20 years ago (where did the time go? i was supposed to be successful by now) said it needed the shift forks replaced/repaired. the shift lever has been replaced, which helped some, but it is still much sloppier than our 400 or super M.
might a donor tractor rear section be more economical than the repair required?

thanks for your input
