how do you corectly set the govenor on a farmall c - i had a tractor shop put in new govenor parts and it doesn,t have the power it had before - and the shop says it set correct this farmall c was bought new for our farm and never ran so weak Thank You --Jerry
 
If they rebuilt it the input lever syould no wobble aroun. With engine off remove the clevis going to the carb. Now open hand throttle all the way. Now the pin in the clevis should fall in whenpushing the rod going to the carb. You mite need to remove that rod and free the clevis so it turns easy. The lever out of gov housing on carb side is spring loaded check it out when the linkage is unhooked. Let us hear how you come out.
 
I just got done setting mine. When you push the governor output arm backwards it may fall into a loose spot. I pushed the carb wot (backwards) and the governer arm to the point that the slop was gone but not preloading the spring (zero) and it works very well. Also high rpm may be off. Adjustable with the screw on top. Screw it out to set rpm higher. You need to have a way of measuring rpm, Ie tach.
