When the IH/Case merger happened, my local International dealer was already out of business and the Case dealership became the only game in town. Recently I went to them to get some spark plugs for my 450D (starts on gas and switches to diesel) and they told me that there was no such model made and if there was it wouldn't have spark plugs. I was laughed out of the building. Ended up going 200 miles to Idaho where they are Red Power friendly and got great service. Are the old case dealerships all like this, or is mine just a bad apple?

Those boys dont know a thing about IH.All they care about is CASE,CASE,CASE!I think you got the bad apple along with a few worms.Im surprised they didnt try to sell you a new tractor.Seriuosly,I have two dealerships within driving distance(lucky me).One has always been very helpful in getting parts for me.This dealership was a formerIH dealer while the other is a CASE/IH dealer. They dont have the knowledge of older tractors so they really dont help me too much.

My CASE IH dealer is also great, I gave them a four page computer printed list of parts for my 1953 farmall super c, three weeks later and 1600.00 dollars I had all but five parts.

Lester, I'm located in s. central PA and the dealership here has gone out of their way to get me parts for 30-50 year old tractors. The only complaint is that thay are strickly ag. If I want industrial parts I must travel 30 miles to a different dealer or I can order them there at the ag dealer for a nominal fee over what the industrial dealer would charge me.

Just couldn't pass this one up. I stopped at MY local IH/Case dealer to check on some parts for my IH-340 Utility. I think he really enjoyed telling me I would have to pay $910 for one steering gear shaft IF it was available, which of course, it wasn't!! Hey, guys, I think there is a federal law that requires car manufacturers to have parts for models up to 10 years old. Let's get one enacted for tractors that goes 50 years. What do you think??

When the merger took place, there was both a factory owned Case dealership, and a very good old time IH dealership in Sioux City, IA. Case made the IH dealership stop selling IH, then the Case dealership quit the farm equipment line, and only sells construction equipment. Now, there is no dealership at all to sell Case-IH.

Lester, don't feel bad, this has been a hot topic of discussion lately. It seems to be hit or miss on the dealerships, even though the reality of it is they are supposed to service and get parts for all IH tractors and impliments. Also rumer has it that Case may be in trouble itself, so who knows what will be in the future. Mey

Would'nt it be great if IH went back in to business. But I never heard of that happening before,I know it would make alot of people happy! All us antique tractor guys would spend alot of money there. Farmers would benefit too. Ofcourse I know this won't happen, but I'm just wishful thinking Mark R.

Its to bad that IH didn't get their act together a little quicker, because the last generation of tractors before they merged where very good. And this is from a Deere fan. They had a really good transmission, engine, cab, just about everything.
