I have two fuel tanks for an H but one doesn't have any brackets for the hood latches. What happened to them or is there some other way to keep the hood on?

Hey Dinglebery,
I think you got my gas tank! A few years ago I was going to put a trick remote control hood release on my H. Before I could finish the tractor it got swept away in a tornado. Oh well, you could just use duct tape to hold the baby down!

The early H's used dzus fasteners, not hooks

Where do I find this type of fastener or a picture of them? Thanks for the help.

I don't think you can buy new ones...These fasteners look like hex head bolts, but are 1/4 turn. They work on a cam action against horizontal bar that is spring loaded. i don't have a picture of them.... You may just need to find the correct hood for your year of tractor. I'm not sure with the H, but the A & B radiator hood mounts are located differently than later ones. Also the gas tank .
