My farmall H has been in the family since new in 1945. It has a gear shift knob that is made of cast iron or steel. Our M and W4 both have rubber knobs. What's the story on the metal knob? It's the only one I've seen on any Farmall I've looked at. thanks Bruce

Some of the Hs in the war years came with the steel knob due to the shortage of rubber.

I think most H's came with steel knobs, at least until the supers. You can screw it off and put a rubber one on, they're available.
