I drove up to Saginaw, MI today and picked up a 3 point hitch for my Super C. This unit is really heavy duty and well made, even painted Farmall red. It has its own hydraulic cylinder but uses the SC's hydraulic system. The cylinder has both upward and downward force, as well as float for something like a mower. It cost $500 for the hitch and $100 for the control valve and manifold adapter kit. I have to get the hoses separately. It mounts to the Farmall axle clamps which my tractor didn't have. I bought them from a salvage yard for $65. I plan to start putting the hitch on tommorrow. Hope it works as good as it looks.

You said Saginaw, MI. Did they move? They used to be in New Lothrop. You also said it has its own hydraulic cylinder, however their web site shows two hydraulic cylinders on the IH units. Do they also make a one cylinder version?

They are out in the country between New Lothrop and Saginaw. Their web site doesn't do them justice. They show no hitches for C/SC's yet they had 6 ready to go in stock. The C/SC hitch has one cylinder but based on its size it should more than get the job done.

I have one on my H, just super piece of workmanship. Great service from them too, good advice. Definitely take everything off that you can. One tip....Take the axle clamps off and mount them to your hitch first. Lots easier to slip the two long bolts over your axle, than to line up the small holes while hoisting 200+ lbs. Worked great for me.

Clyde,
That's great to be close enough to save on shipping charges! I've got their hitches on a SM, SH and a B (made up brackets to mount the C hitch). Clyde describe the setup they offer for the C hydraulic system. Is it like the diverter block that mounts between the manifold and the touch control assy that used to sell years ago? Could you post any pictures?

Clyde, I bought a Saginaw hitch last summer because it was close (50 mi. south) and I read good comments about it here on the Board.

It's the best-looking thing on my M. All I use it for so far is holding a brush-hog. The 3/4" swivel bolts on the channel mounts that hold the hitch will break before the hitch breaks.

I don't think you'll be sorry you bought it.

Joe

Clyde, you'll find that the Saginaw hitch conversion was well worth the money spent. Another big advantage of the Saginaw hitch kit is that you can still use your original drawbar. The hitch will bolt right onto your tractor with no muss or fuss. If you're going to do it by yourself, I recommend that you take the hitch down to the bare chassis first because the hitches are right up in the 200# + weight category assembled and will be very difficult to hoist up by yourself and align the bolts to the mounting holes. You won't regret your investment. I've got one on my H and I can hoist a 3 pt. 9-shank cultivator with no problem.

I bought a Saginaw hitch for my 300. Great hitch, only drawback is the depth control with the 300 hydraulics. I wanted to get one for my Super C too. I didn't know they came with a hydraulic manifold adapter. I was wondering where you hooked the hoses too. What kills me is the shipping. It cost $160 to ship out here to the NW several years ago. I'll bet it'll be $200 now...Thanx for posting the info....Dave
