GOSH - You mean there's Cummin's parts AND PowerStroke parts on My Case/IH/Navistar Dealer's shelves?.. The PSD parts are not that much cheaper than the Ford dealers prices, Glow Plug relay at Ford is $45 and about 1/2 that at Navistar. Cam Position sensor is about $140 at Ford and $80 at Navistar. People are a lot nicer to deal with too.

Your Case/IH dealer probably won't have Powerstroke parts. Remember, the PS is made by what was Navistar (just recently re-named International again). Navistar had no ties to Case/IH, and Case/IH never used a 7.3 in any of their equipment. A navistar truck dealer would have parts, but that's about it.

The Cummins diesel was originally built for tractors. Dodge came along later.

Cummins or CDC as the Cummins / Case IH joint venture was called couldn't have made the deal more confusing if they tried. IHC had their own 358 Nuess engine, a 360 Melrose enging, and now C/IH uses a 359 CID engine in some tractors. All with ZERO parts interchangability. It is a good engine though. I frequent Forddiesel.com and the TDR sites also. My PSD turns over 165K this weekend going to the F-1 race and had it's 5th Birthday last June 27th. I'm shopping for a new truck and maybe in a few years I'll be able to buy one!.... Trying to decide if I should buy the CTD Ram or get my 4th Ford in the last 21 yrs. I'm tempted to keep it for another 4 yrs when it should have right at 300K miles on it.
