I would do exactly what he's done, so far. We need to have patience and long term resolve to get the bastards that did this terrible, cowardly deed.

I feel like the president is doing a good job under the awful circumstances he and all of us is faced with.I think retaliation should be severe and swift to terrorist camps around the world and to those countries that fund and support them. The most important thing we all can do is pray for the poor souls that lost their lives in this horrible act of terrorism and for our leaders to have the wisdom to bring our great nation through this.

Netanyahu said in his televised speech that these Terrorists will not stop until ALL Americans are dead. That includes our children, our spouses .. YOU! The terrible people that arranged these despicable acts aren't total idiots. With years of planning, they had to know we would immediately beef-up airline security after their attacks. Therefore I can't help but wonder - where and how soon - the next attack(s) will come (Stadiums, Malls, Train Derailments ?) "Waiting to see what happens next" is not a stance I can back.

We should occupy/confiscate Afghanistan immediately! Then do a full search and destroy mission on their entire terrorist network(s) within their borders, since they refuse to do it themselves. Then, when the (properly elected) leaders of that country can be trusted, years from now, the country could be returned. In the mean time, it gives the US the Mid-East presence needed to control and remove, present and future terrorist activity, not to mention some control over the most notable terrorist organization OPEC!

In addition to the 3 successful flying bombs and the 1 failed one, I would seek to find out how many more hi-jackings were planned but not successfully carried out. Then I would do exactly as he is...requiring all those piss-ant countries to choose up sides. Woe to those who don't help root out the terrorists. There can be no such thing as providing safe harbor! Those not on the side of good are fair targets, and it's time they knew it.

To end our reliance on mid-eastern oil, I would immediately require our neglected domestic oil fields to be developed as quickly as possible...no more unpatriotic whining from the 'greenies'! I would also immediately recind the Clintoon order that took the huge supply of low-sulfur Utah coal away from us. That was just plain STUPID!

I hope that US responses are well thought out. This will probably take a couple of years of military action to stamp out a lot of this activity.

Good comment, Red. This needs some clear-headed, long-range planning.

Maybe if some of those terrorists had a tractor to restore, we could put their energy to better use?...

I would still be thanking God for a few things:

The fourth plane did not take out the White House.

The president was not in the White House.

There weren't more planes involved.

Then I'd go get the big can of whupass.

I don't think you would want to see the big smile on their faces - after all they all think they each are quickly going to have 36 virgins all for themselves. We have to realize - they don't think like us! And if we don't realize that, that will be our downfall.

This is a crime against all humanity & Democracy's of the world. With the help of all the countries who want to participate, round up all the terrorists & the leaders of the countries that protect them. Put them in a big corral & stick them head first into the rear end of a camel. Then, get our good friends from Hong Kong to bring in the PADDLE. Whip their asses for as long as it takes the camel to die. If MECCA is still left, ship their sorry asses there for buriel in a 2 wheel donkey cart.

I just wish we could go back in time and focus on being our own country. Withdraw from unneccisary foreign affairs so to speak. If two little country's want to have an ongoing war, well lets just sit back and watch them kill each other. Look back in time a little here. Every time a couple little country's get into it, the good old U.S.A. comes to the rescue and takes sides and punishes the one we (think) is wrong. Go on 72 day bombing spree's and its no wonder we have made some enemies. Whoever done this knows what they are doing. They know that the only way to take this country down is from within. They knew they had to use our own plains and take off from our own airports. They are even saying on the news that the highjackers even learned how to fly our jets from our own pilot schools. Sure, I say blow this ring leader clear off the map. I just don't think that is the soul problem here. I'm just not sure that we haven't already stuck our nose in where it don't belong on some of these ongoing foreign affairs. We have stepped on somebody's toes here to make them want to do something like what they did. I would sure hate to think that we have lost up to and maybe well over 5000 civilian people and 15 billion dollars in damage just becuase we were trying to inflict our government and military over some rinky dink group or country that originally had no concern with us and we may have not been affected at all by their original goal or actions. If you can tell, I don't believe we will ever have world peace or a one world government. It would be nice to have world peace but there will always be a group or country that will want to be on there own and stir up trouble. I sure wouldn't be in favor of excepting someone else's government and on that note, in retrospect, I can see where there is some conflict with that world wide. I just think if we would stay home a little more and concentrate on our own country and only get out and cuase waves over an incident like the terrorist attack then I bet this terrorist attack would of never happened. Well somewhere else anyway where we could of watched from afar rather than been affected. You can't poke a stick into a bee hive without being attacked so why bother the bee hive if the bee hive is not bothering you. That's how I think we should handle our foreign affairs. If we get poked, we poke back and wipe them out. If they leave us alone, then we stay out of all these little conferntations that don't have nothing to do with us. The sad part about this is the damage is done and our hands our pretty much tied as far as changing our foreign affairs on this particular deal. It's like this whole Middle East deal that's been going on for years. The only way that could ever affect us is if they would happen to unite and even then it would only be in fuel prices. Well here is a little factual tip. The Middle East have been fighting among themselve's for centuries and they haven't united yet. The chances are really slim and becuase of that we will always be on friendly terms with atleast one country to trade with. If they jack the oil prices up then we say the only way we'll buy it is to trade food with them. We in turn jack food prices up to make up the difference. If that country disagree's then we do buisness with their enimy. Their hands would just be tied either way. We don't necassarily need to be involved in all these little glimpses of one country taking over another. Let the little puppit countries duke it out. It would probably be like watching a little boxing match. We don't have to be a world wide refferee, we can sit in the stands and watch. Now that this is a serious deal their may well be some more serious turns of events. I just hope it turns out O.K. for the U.S.A. and we can meet some kind of closure to this very devistating event. Dealing with suicide individuals is very serious if they happen to have access to some nucs. You might just change your mind on that bombing thing. That cituation is really starting to scare me. I gotta run so God Bless America.

Bill, I understand how you feel, but we tried to withdraw from unneccisary foreign affairs once before and Hitler went through half of Europe.

I think we need do the investigation, get the black boxes from the aircrafts and pinpoint all who was involved. Use what ever force it takes to apprend those involved. I would prefer to capture "alive" the person in charge, and put him on trial for the whole world to see what a week, spineless person this is.

After finding of guilty ... I think the tractor seat on the nose of the aircraft idea might be good.

Lastly, For a monument of the spirit of the American will, rebuild the twin towers!

Well, Hitler grew to a bigger problem than just vickering with a neighboring country. I think he had ruleing the world in mind. That is alot different than more recent foreign affairs involvement that we have jumped into. I think U.S.A.'s involvment in WW II was at the right time and appropriate. If it wasn't for Pearl Harbor their stood a possibility that it wouldn't of involved us. But none the less, we acted appropriately in WW II. I don't think whoever done this is even worth the danger we would put our military in to try to capture alive. I would rather see those responsible destroyed without the loss of 1 U.S. soldier. I think that would be better than sending ground troops in to capture alive and risking lives of our military men and women for people we are going to kill anyway. Doesn't make sense. I am like you and think the twin towers should be rebuilt. If for nothing else for a memorial monument for all the victems and a symbal to the world that the U.S. can rise up even when destroyed. And when they are built we need to get the biggest old glories and fly them at full staff above each tower and a flag underneath that that says "U.S.A. will not be destroyed by terrorists."

I am a little overwhelmed myelf by the world support. Maybe just a little scared of some of these other countries that are laying low and maybe plotting against us when the fire breaks out. I just had a little thought as to how to handle this Sadam Been Laden. I can see where some say capture him alive and bring him back here to make an example out of him. Well I'm not for that even as of now but I have come up with an idea. Listen to this. We kill him right where he sits, put a rope around his dead bodies neck and drag him back here behind a battleship. Well we haven't gotten any real good use out of that statue of liberty lately. I say hoist him up there and hang him so he is dangling down hanging from the torch for the whole world to see. I bet that would get more world attention than bringing him over here and killing him by some stupid leathol injection way after some judge says its alright. President Bush referred to a dead or alive poster from the old west the other day and I think it is time to get back to a real tuff way about doing things in this country and say the heck with this be lazy, easy riding way that these polititions and lawyers think we need to go about things.

I think he's doing a good job so far. He just needs to take his time and get the facts striaght like you say. Tonight as I was driving the 686 down the road I saw three planes headed toward Minneapolis. First time I've seen air traffic since the attacks. Hopfully a good sign that our country is up and running again.

There's no peace til a world coalition of peaceful nations can come together on a war footing against terrorism, combining resources, exchanging intelligence and collaborating together militarily in a long running series of hard fought campaigns to root out these groups and force governments harboring them to cough up the perpetrators. Governments harboring terrorist groups have to know the world as a whole will no longer accept their standing in a neutral zone providing sanctuary. Bush had the right idea when he said we will not distinguish between the individuals and the governments providng them shelter. I'm hoping world leaders have seen enough these last few days to know this type of senseless destruction and loss can happen anywhere, to know that a hard course must be taken, and to get started doing what's got to be done to make the world a safer place.

First, put every person in the USA that is here on a passport from an Arab country on watch. Second, if there are any here with Afganistan passports, detain them, investigate and arrest those that have any association with the terrorists and kick all the rest out of the USA.

My first instinct would be to make a parking lot out of Afghanistan. If we did do that, however, would that make us any different than them? Many more innocent lives would be lost. I suppose the proper thing to do is completly investigate and find for certain who and what country is involved then take appropriate action. Part of what the terrorists want is for our country to go stomp somebody's rear, kill thousands of innocent people and make us look to be the bad guys. It won't matter that WE lost thousands of innocent people. Let's be smarter than that and not let them manipulate us. Whoever is responsible for the tragedies WILL be held accountable.

When he finds out for sure who did it he should start a full military assault to get rid of the scum that did this, and the ones that are helping them. No matter who that will be. Then don't stop bombing until the US can walk in and take over the oil fields. Yes I believe that they were from the middle east.

I thank God that I do not have to make those decisions! One part of me wants to destroy somebody, another part wants peace. I have two sons active in the military and I relize full well that they may have to give their lives to protect the freedom we all enjoy. The best thing we can all do is remain calm until it is confirmed who is responsiable for these cowardly dispicable acts then stand behind our president's decisions. In the mean time we need to pray for the families of those who were lost and for the leaders of the world's countries.
