'49 M does most of the work, bush hogging (shredding down here in Central Tx.), box blade work, grader blade work, disc work with 8' Ford disc, even tow the 18' flatbed trailer around.

The '41 B has a JD #5 sickle bar mower permanently bolted to the drawbar for mowing ditches.

The Cub, the '40 A-C B and '39 A-C RC are just for fun/shows.

I use my '48 H to drag a blade mostly. I'm looking for a front loader for it and a 3 point. then maybe I can get some real use out of it. My favorite thing is listening to my 2 year old grandson laughing when he rides in my lap on the old tractor.

The 53 Cub gets used to plow/harrow/mow the sides of driveway. The 39 M NFE gets used to haul manure spreader/mow 10 acre fields and haul wood (just keep those fingers and thumbs out of the steering wheel) Both are GREAT units!!

I use my 53 Super C for plowing the garden with a 2 bottom plow and mowing the fence row with a brush hog. Just enough to justify owning her!!

I am currently restoring her so we can go to shows together.

I am semi-retired and farm with Farmalls only.

Mow hay with my WF M and NH 469 haybine.
Rake when required with C and IH 46 hayrake.
Bale with my Grandpa's M and JD 348 square baler (wire tie). 10,000 bales this year.
Haul hay with same WF M or NF M and NH bale wagon (one-man stacker).
Plow with WF M with 6 wheel weights and IH 3 bottom trip plow.
Disc with Grandpa's M and JD 9 ft disc.
Plant with either M and JD 13x7 drill.
Cut brush trees with 39 M with vintage Farmhand loader and tree saw.
Brush hog with M with M&W hand clutch or C.
Mow grass with A with IH 5 ft finish mower.
Grade drive and loose dirt with Cub and front blade.
Hay rides with WF M or NF M. They are the only two with good lights.
Stationary 3-1/2 - 5 IH is used for amusement. Would like to get it hooked up to a jack shaft to run the trip hammer.

The O-6, another M, two diesel M's, Super MTA-D, Super H, two H's, Super C, B, Super A, F-12, F-14, 100, 300, two JD A's, JD B, and Allis B, CAT D2, and CAT 12 just sit and watch.

By the way, do you know why there are more JD's collected than Farmalls?

Because the old Farmalls are still working, earning their living.

SM - IH 2001 loader work, Gehl 1850 baler, 6' bush hog, back/box blade work, moving round bales, carry-all (firewood and kids).
SH - backup for SM.
B - IH100 3pnt sickel mower, hay rake, back/box blade, carry-all.

My IH-H did not have a blade to it. But I made a front blade with a mechanical lever arm lift and I use it to push snow and gravel. Works good for not having hydraulics.

I use my 1954 "SuperC more" for a higher purpose. Its used to plow, disc, spray and plant about 5 acres of sunflowers, then mow them down and disc them up, for DOVE HUNTING. Won't tell you where, you might be a poacher. But, can tell you we got over 300 doves in first 2 days of the season, thanks to SUPER C MORE. All Fast-Hitch stuff, also. SuperCmore

I own a Super H and a Super M. Both see service pulling double wagon sets at a friend's "choose and cut" Christmas tree farm every December. We parade, show and pull them at our local Lion's Club country fair every August, and parade them at a firemen's parade or two every year. I also use them to skid an occasional log outta the woods, and the bigger one blades snow in the winter. And once it a while I get 'em out and run 'em around just for fun!

My Super H is used for bush hogging about 10 acres,this fall i'm going to plow with it.If I can find the equipment {planter,cultivators,etc}then next year it's sweet corn for us!The Allis B is the show tractor,but I still pull a disc with it.I have been known to drive them both around the farm for no reason other than to relax,you see,I had a kidney transplant a few months ago and being as sick as I was I find it more important to slow down and do things you really love while you still can,whenever you can.BillJ

I have a 50 JD that I use to mow hay and sometimes blade the drive. My Farmall 400 is used to rake and bale hay, split wood and do the heavy driveway blading.

My father and I use our Super MTA on a daily basis doing our work around the farm, it is equiped with a 3-point hitch and a front loader so it sees many differing duties.

I have an F20 (restored). Runs great. Have a buzz saw I use it for on the belt. Also have a front end loader for it that I use in the winter for snow. Also pull a wagon for hayrides, and most recently, have hauled it to several area car shows. There seems to be interest in seeing old tractors even at these events.

The Golden Jubilee is used mainly for brush hoggin the lane, field roads, and pastures. The Farmall H with the belly mount sickle mower is used on the stuff the Jub and brush hog is too tippy to get, hauling wood, and general fun. Oh yeah, I use it to trim back the hedge that grows along the lane, too.

"Cultivating a few acres of sweet corn" is what I tell my wife. Really, it is therapy to escape for a while to the field and listen to the old H run. It's funny how I can think better while bouncing around on a metal seat, kicking up dust, and running over corn plants. Fireman

My tractors, JD 4010 Diesel and Farmall H are used on our farm. They do everything. Plowing, disking, oat seeding, planting, cultivating, spraying, runniun augers, The 4010 hauls in with one of our 480 bu Parker wagons, and the 4010 gets dualed up and pulls a springtooth in the spring and sometines after fall tillage.

I use my 41 A for mowing my yard,plowing my drive in the winter and the most fun is giving my to children[5&20months] a ride after i unhook the mower.

I have several red and green machines but the only one that see's regular service is a green lawn tractor. The others just sit around and take up space. From time to time I try to find something for them to do even if it's only a trip around the house.

My Farmalls get used in the Fall harvest. The 2 Hs at the farm get mounted on the field augur and the grain bin augur at Jeff's farm. Old Smokey M will be used this fall to pull 250 bushel gravity hopper wagons. It should beable to pull 2 at a time which would be around 25,000 pounds give or take.

The Red, while I know the M could pull two wagons that are loaded, it doesn't have the braking power and weight to stop that large of load if it needed to be done in a hurry. As a matter of fact (I know this is crossing colors) John Deere had cover discouraging such a practice in the last Furrow. Anyway have a safe harvest.

I have been pulling hoppers behind my neighbor's M for 10 years. I only run in third gear so it stops pretty easily. Old Smokey M will have new brake bands on it before harvest.

New brake bands will allow you to lock the wheels, but 6,000 pounds of skidding "M" won't stop 25,000 pounds of "pushing" grain wagons. I have a neighbor with two bent-up wagons and an odd looking Oliver 1650 who will attest to that!

My '47 MD and Freeman loader plows out 6 driveways in our residential neighborhood (widows and retirees, they keep me well supplied with baked goods). It also turns my Electrall for power failures, and I levelled the neighbor's yard the other day when she had a stump ground out and they didn't backfill the hole. I've loaded a number of big heavy things in and out of pickup trucks with it too. I've come to the conclusion that a front-end loader is about the best labor-saving device there is.

I have to agree about the loaders. If My Super H didn't have a loader on it I really don't see much of a reason to have the tractor! When Dad farmed, We didn't have a loader on it but We kept it busy mowing/raking/baling hay and straw, doing hog and cattle chores, hauling feed & water, etc. We put about 250 hrs. a year on the tractor. We put a distributor drive housing off a Farmall 350 on it the first year We had it so It has a tach/hourmenter/speedometer on it. It gets about 10-15 hrs a year now pushing a little snow out of the driveway and cleaning up the yard.

You're right about the loaders! I have one on the '49 H that comes off in the summer when I use it to mow and rake hay, but leave the one on the '62 560 for moving dirt & manure. I put the H loader on for the winter for those days when the 560 says it wants to sleep in (or I forget to plug it in...). One of the handiest pieces of equipment on the farm!

I am retired and my "H" is mostly just a project to have fun with. Basically, it has been retired also, and doesn't have to do any serious work. I have pulled out a relative's van which was stuck in the mud. I drive it up the road and around the field (to keep the battery charged, I say). At a recent family reunion I pulled a wagon load of people around, hopefully to help them keep in touch with their roots

I haven't had my M very long...so I'll tell you what I bought it for.

I do bush hog 12 achres with it. I need to put a driveway in an old cotton field...spread the dirt the dump trucks dump. Im putt'n a horse arena in and need to level it once its in...I plan on tak'n kids for hay rides this fall. I also use it to race the local 6-12 year old kids, but they normally beat me on feet. The first time I took my M for a spin I had 10 kids following me. I was in 3rd and thought I would loose them by dropping it in 4th...that didn't work so I dropped her in 5th and away we went. I got real nervous with those 80lb kids next to my 6000lb tractor...thank god for 5th gear.

The Super M keeps some old fields clear of bushes.
Fields that once grew potatoes that kept the family fed and were even once worked by German prisoners of war.

The Regular in its various pieces holds the weeds down in my parent's backyard just by virtue of being spread across it.

I use my '38 F-14 mostly for hauling trailers for various tasks. I also use it to pull my 1950 John Deere "H" manure spreader a couple of times a year, and my 1950-ish AC #3 sicklebar mower roughly as often. Have also pulled my Model 39 2-14 rollover plow with it, but it's way more than it wants. Have the front half of a raggedy old disk harrow that I play with in the fall to chop up garden residue. Spend more time turning than disking, but it's the fun that counts.

My wife takes care of the tasks Big Fred assigns to his tractors... ":^)

My '59 140 is my lawn mower. That is what it was purchased for, But in the six months I have had it, it has brush-hogged the neighbors overgrown back yard, Helped me pull an elm stump out of the back yard (won't try that again), Saved me $1300 when my drain field failed by distributing 65 ton of gravel and back filling, hauled dirt for land scaping and completed many other landscaping projects. Oh yeah, it mows the yard too.

My '41 Farmall B keeps me outa the bars. My '55 300U keeps me offa the golf courses. I just picked up a '45 A a while ago, think it'll hafta keep me from gambling.

I have 12 acres of hilly alfalfa ground so I need all four tractors to harvest the hay. The '54 SMTA puuls the IHC 27-V sickel mower(love that LPTO), the'47 H pulls the IHC 35 hay rake, the '49 M WFE with three sets of weights pulls the NH Model 80 baler, and the '47 M pulls the hay rack. Am considering a little winter wheat raising but then I would have to buy more tractors. I also give some of them a break and go to a local tractor show.
