My H does that every now and then mostly on a ditch bank or rough ground I found that I had some rust moving around the tank and it would plug the hole above the shut off picked some out with a magnet and seems to help...shan

Kurt. I had a problem with our H, It would run along fine, then start to sputter and quit. After a minute it would start right up. Checked everything, Gas tank, fuel line, carburetor, nothing worked. One day when it was about to quit, I reached up and took the gas cap off the tank. It started running fine. Turned out that the vent hole in the gas cap was cloged. Opened it up and it hasn't quit since. Tom

Open up your high speed mixture screw about 1/2 turn. That is the angled one on the bottom of carburetor bowl. Turn counterclockwise to open up.
