I was going to look at a farmall H this weekend dont know much about them. I heard it is a 40's model and comes w/mower,blade,disk. Said to start right up and run good. I dont know condition of metal. What do these normally sell for? He is asking $2,100 and is in TX. I have 3 B's that are basically parts tractors, and after finding out how much the machine shop wanted for parts and labor to fix a cracked block and do machine work,I could just buy a running H.

Hey, Let me tell you something, if you get an H you will never regret it because they are one of the most versatile and toughest tractors. Now, if it had a 3 pt it would be a pretty good deal but if it didnt I would maybe talk him down a little. But you know like they say, a tractor is worth what you think it is worth. H's around here (VA) usually sell for around 1500-2000 in mechanical order. My .02

Went to an auction this morning in Cheasning MI. They had a 51' H that sold for $850. Metal was fair, one new rear tire. The other rear looked like it may have been original. The front tires were about done. Started and ran like a top. I almost bought it but I never really had a chance to look it over good before they sold it. I was there to look at a 350 with loader. It sold for $2300. Around here in central MI H's sell from 1500-2000 range depending on condition and tires.

There are several Hs at a dealer here and he ASKS $1500 average price for them in fair/good condition. From the sound of yours (blade, disk)it may have a 3 point lift which is a $650 aftermarket item if added later. Don't think you would get scalded at $2100 if this is the case and the implements are in good shape. If just drag implements I would try to get the rig down closer to a $1500 price for a good running machine. My .02.

I just bought an "H" 3 weeks ago for $1500. Brand new tires,no implements, fenders, lights, starts and smokes some, sheet metal been redone and painted,no belt pully, new seat and steering wheel. Just thought this may give you an idea. Oh, and i'm in southern Wisconsin. Good Luck

One key factor is the condition of the tires. If they are near new, then $2,100 with the other implements would be about average in central Indiana if the tractor is complete and the electrical system is good. If the tires are poor, $1,500 would be a fair offer.

Check out the site below, it has a great page on buying an H. Also check out the implements section to see my H with steerable cultivators. There is a page on this site - Tractor Values - under research and info that has a price range. Mine was $650 at an auction with good fenders and belt pulley - cultivators came later. Good luck, H's are fabulous machines.
