I was going to buy a steering wheel from IH for my MD, but they told me it would fit, but was not like the original wheels. I did not buy. I got a reproduction wheel from JP Tractor Salvage in Fredericktown, MO. 573-783-7055. Ask for John Jr. The steering wheel is close enough to orginal that no one would notice.

Get one from a junked IH combine, they are about 1 in. less in diameter, but if it is a cab combine, the center cap and wheel will be in good shape. I got one for my 350 from Glen Mlnarik of Howells, NE a couple years ago. He advertises in Red Power Mag.

You aren't the only one this has happened to. This happened to me 3 years ago. I finally gave it away last year. I eventually found one from of a 4166 that was being parted out. It was an original from a cab equipped tractor.

I now understand Bates Corp in Bourbon, Indiana have a reproduction steering wheel that is an exact reproduction of the original. I have only seen pictures of it. I suggest you give them a call. They have a web site. Try Yahoo and search using Bates Corp.
