By Harrow, I'll assume You mean Disc Harrow. There's many other kinds. With a 504 I would try to stay with something between 8 and 10 ft. The 504 is basically an over-grown H, same displacement but the engine block is similar to the C and Super C, 200/230/240 block with wet sleeves. The rear end is very similar to the H. It's a little too light for a 12 ft. disc, but it Would pull it. Hills, hardness of ground, amount of ground to cover, etc. would all be factors to consider. Peg tooth harrow is not much good for tillage, mostly a finishing tool. Spring Tooth harrow is used mostly for stirring up plowed ground prior to planting.

I never used a 504 but my friend's 560 has no problem handling a 12 foot #37 IH Disk Harrow. I don't think a 504 would have any trouble handling a disk of this size as I can pull the same disk with my SM-TA with little difficulty even thought I set it up to penetrate the ground deeply.

Good Luck

I agree with the disk suggestion. Dad has a 504 gas- Pulls a 10' disk ok in light ground, but will make it work in heavier ground. Won't quite do it in 3rd, but ok in 2nd. Also as stated, it's just an overgrown C.. but good hydraulics.

My dad had a 504. geared slightly higher than a Super M but couldn't pull as much. Great HYD system and live PTO. Some came with a 3 point.
Mowing, sprayer, cultivator, spreader, weeder - great. Plow, Disc, not so good will have trouble with an 8' disk in heavy soil.
