Brought the digital camera with me while operating the combine over the weekend to grab a few images. Punch below for a some field and cab shots, etc.. Yeah - the I realize the combine is a JD, and this is the Farmall/IHC board. But note one of the haul trucks (the RED one of course!) is an older International. ...Bob M

Greg - Pix were shot in the towns of Wheatland and Caledonia - in the Genesee valley south of Rochester.

Nice pictures Bob! What was the average yield? Is that a 15', 20' or 24' grain table??

Durn if I missed the wheat harvest this year. Been way too busy in the office.

Hey Red - The piece where I took those pix ran 55 - 60 bushels....a little higher than average. The combine header is a 15 footer. We tried a 20' a couple years ago but found it didn't harvest any quicker, and the straw windrows it left were enough bigger to cause problems for the baler. Also many of the roads where this thing has gotta be moved from field to field are fairly narrow (photo). Ferrying with larger header attached presents logistical and public safety problems, especially after dark. ...Bob M

Dang you got to play, ER, harvest on the combine! We also run with a 15 footer for the same reasons.

Just made a trip from MI to CT this past wkd. Crossed in Detroit into Ontario, then crossed again at Niagra Falls. Took I-90 into Mass and on from there. Sure is some beautiful country out there! All the crops in Ontario and NY looked nice. The corn's all curled up around home. Hopefully this rain mass hits us good tonight.

Hey S-E - If you ran the Thruway thru NY state on Sunday you came within a 1/2 mile of some of our fields near Rochester. Had you known where to look you could have seen us!

0.8" of rain here overnite. Wheat harvest is suspended for now, but the corn 'n beans are looking better. ...Bob M

We got less than 1/10" last night. Might be a chance for more today. Hope we get something.

Oh, heard the crops in Iowa are having a bad year. My parents just came from there last week. Guess some fellas are rippin out the corn to plant beans in hopes they'll get something this fall. Bad times for the mid-west!
